Your Action Starts Here

Demonstration

1

Why Are You Irritaded? At What/ Whom Are You Irritated About?

Identify the problem. You can only act upon a problem if you know what it is.

2

What Is Your Desired Outcome?

Now that you know the problem, clarify why it is a problem. What do you wish the problem would solve? What do you envision once the problem is gone?

3

Act.

Alright, roll up your sleeves and do something about it! It is your future, so shape it how you want it to be. See below for activist suggestions.

Action at School

Reach a wide variety of youths to join the action at your school

  • Hang up fliers in classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms summarizing the problem and providing a solution

  • Organize events in collaboration with big occasions at your school

  • Talk to faculty about addressing the problem or give presentations to your class

  • Collaborate with other schools in your area e.g. with their clubs or for an event

  • Write for your school newsletter

  • Make a challenge at your school, e.g. everyone wears a specific color to show their support towards XYZ

  • Is there something you want your school to change? Make a campaign and collect signatures to show the faculty!

Travel Apps

Online Action

Reach out to an audience far beyond your local area, and engage others in what you have to say

  • participate in or make a hashtag or a challenge for people to participate in. You can mention the hashtag and/or challenge in the flyers you hang up in school and public spaces

  • Do you know anyone with a large following status? Ask them to discuss the problem and advertise for your challenge/ hashtag

  • Make a blog to discuss your concerns and vision

Museum

General Action

  • Talk, talk, and talk. Foster conversations about the issues you care about by engaging in respectful dialogue with friends, family, and peers. Share your knowledge and experiences, listen to different perspectives, and encourage others to get involved and take action

  • Write Opinion pieces for a newspaper of your choice

  • Participate and join organizations like Extinction Rebellion or Fashion Revolution

  • Wear your message! DIY or buy clothing which conveys the message you want to get across. That way, anyone you walk by will have a reminder on the current problem

  • Know what you're buying: Don't consume from companies which violate what you're fighting for. For example, don't buy the chocolate bar who's production was not environmentally friendly, but instead, look for an alternative.

  • Join workshops, seminars, and conferences related to the causes you're passionate about. These events provide opportunities to learn from experts, network with like-minded individuals, and gain new skills and knowledge.
